BIO

Antonio’s personal and professional passions are centered on Newark becoming a 21st century model for inclusive urban revitalization.

He is actively involved in the local community as a former board member of GlassRoots (an arts educational nonprofit), as well as La Casa de Don Pedro (a neighborhood social services organization) and was appointed by Mayor Baraka to be an inaugural member of the Equitable Growth Commission. Antonio is also the co-founder of Have You Met Newark which provides walking tours to visitors, corporate anchors, and longtime residents.

Antonio is a proud alum of Leadership Newark from the class of 2012. He holds an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and Masters degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Design where he studied urban planning and real estate development. He is proud to reside in the Roseville neighborhood of Newark.

WORK HISTORY

As Director of Development at RBH Group for 12 years, Antonio was responsible for all aspects of financing, entitlements, design, construction and lease-up for the company’s various community impact development projects. Those projects included

      • 420,000 SF, 3 phase, 6-building $150m Teachers Village project located in the Downtown (203 units)
      • AeroFarms industrial project located in the Ironbound section
      • Rutgers Honors Living Learning Community (400 bed dorm, parking deck and ground floor retail)
      • Build-out and lease-up of 13 retail spaces—nearly all local, minority, and women-owned businesses.

During his work at RBH, Antonio was directly involved in securing over $400m of financing (both private and public) and has special expertise in complex public investments (Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, New Market Tax Credits, Tax- Increment Financing, Long-Term-Tax Exemption, PILOTs, etc).
